Surprise Encounter(s) at Old Westbury

The Long Island staff team hosted a spiritual formation retreat for student leaders. It was a time of worship, bible study, and intercession. 5 campuses came together and Mikey from Old Westbury was invited at the last moment.

During intercession for campuses, the plan was to go to Farmingdale to do some outreach, but while we were praying we felt a clear invitation that God was inviting us to change plans and go to Old Westbury.

We headed to OW, where Mikey was the only student who knew the campus. We spent 35 min praying and utilizing the faith survey. In those 35 minutes, we got 11 contacts from our prayer walk. 8 people were followers of Jesus and at least one expressed interest in leading something on campus (AND he’s in class with our OW student, Mikey!)

It was so cool to see the faith of other students grow as we marveled at how God was answering our prayer mere hours after we prayed.

Since February, Mikey gathered students and got trained to lead a bible study. There are now over 12 students interested in helping to plant and launch in Sept, including 4 incoming transfer students who attended Basileia from various other schools.
